"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her…that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated…and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist."
I think forming a bond with fans in the future will come in the form of constantly providing them with the element of surprise. No, I did not say “shock”; I said “surprise.” I believe couples can stay in love for decades if they just continue to surprise each other, so why can’t this love affair exist between an artist and their fans?
One thing I’ve learned is your life is your life, it’s not what people write about your life and it’s not what everyone’s perception of what your life is. I never want to turn into that person who says to whoever I may be seeing or thinking about going on a date with: “Let’s not go to dinner in public tonight because that might get written about.” I don’t want to let the fact that people are watching me change the course of my actions in relationships.
"I don’t think that you should wait. I think you should speak now.”
